| Catering Living in the 21st century, we know that crime rates are ascending, even in time Taman Chi Liung. Therefore, our parents grew more concerned as we were given the liberty to buy our lunch meals from the neighboring stalls. Thus, on Parent’s Night, this matter was brought up, and the majority of parents decided that it would be wiser to cater-that was how catering begun. So when it was announced that those who don’t pack food from home will have to cater, we were taken aback. Honestly speaking, after a few days of catered food, it dawned on us that catering wasn’t as bad as we thought. The food offered to us are always filled with surprises, courtesy of Uncle Jacky’s imaginative lunch menu, which varies from pasta to economy rice. Now, we don’t crack our heads as to what to eat, and we don’t rush from one shop to another because of our fickle minds. Of course there are moments where we miss the food outside. Before we started catering, we were occasionally blessed with lunch meals from amazing mothers. Therefore , a heartfelt gratitude for the many mouthwatering meals and cake from them, namely Aunty LeeLee, Aunty Vivian, Aunty Delight and Aunty Susie. Community Services There’s more to education than just learning how to read and write; community service is one essence that should not be left out. Hence, last year we had the opportunity to spend a few hours in Grace Home, and were able to make a trip to the Feeding Centre in KL. 1st July, 2008 The students of GRC Klang, both juniors and seniors made a visit to Grace Home, a home for neglected women. We had praise and worship where the women sang-along with us. There was this grandmother, in her eighties, whom we admire. She may be old in the flesh, but she certainly is young in her spirit; for she danced and sang like a youth! Then, we were given the opportunity to fellowship and pray for the women there. 10th, August, 2008 A handful of seniors set out to the Feeding Centre, after church service by train. After we arrived at our destination, we were assigned tasks-cutting bananas, and packing deserts. Then, it was time for the dinner to be given out. Starving men and women took their coupons and lined up as we gave out their dinner boxes, deserts, and drinks. We are so blessed to have food laid on the table everyday, which we sometimes take for granted. Some of these men and women have to depend on others to fill their hungry tummies, and to some the dinner meals we served were the only meal they would be having for the entire day!
